Make A GIF in a Jiffy

My friend Sharon sent me an email that nearly made me fall over laughing. She had taken a series of photos of me, from the time we went to trampoline school, and transformed them into a GIF. So it was me, only bouncier. Of course, I needed to know how she did this. Commence Googling. Turns out, it’s easy. If Sharon and I can do it, you can too.  Why would you ever need a GIF? I have no idea. But it makes me laugh, so there’s that. Here’s How To Make Your Own Free and Easy GIF in a Jiffy.   Go to www.makeagif.com Upload your photos Arrange them in whatever order you like Set the speed  Create (and then share with me because I want to see!)

Chicken Shark

I write hundreds of posts every week.  Unfortunately, about 99 of them are in my head and never make it from there to here. I’m not making excuses (yes I am) but I’ve been busy. And forgetful.  By the time I sit down at the computer at night, the stellar blog posts created in my brain during the day have evaporated.  Sometimes they come back to me, but mostly not (clearly evident by the drivel that is unfolding before you right about now). This week I rebuilt my blog in WordPress, which is a sleeker, more user-friendly blogging format.  All I need to do now is transfer these Blogger posts over and figure out how to redirect this address over there. I guess I’ll have to watch yet another online tutorial. And why exactly am I doing this when I have a million other things on the go? It’s not like it’s urgent or that the format I write in makes a difference.  This past few weeks has been stressful.  So stressful I haven’t been able to write about it all yet.  And when I’m stressed, I need to keep moving.  I’m like a shark.  Just keep swimming, keep on[…]

Heads Up

Look up. See that pitiful header? No! Not YOUR head. You have a perfectly nice cranium. I love your hair by the way. I mean, look up at the top of this blog. The title header is making me crazy. I can not get the damn thing to stretch (that’s what he said) or at least appear in the centre. Is that too much to ask? Is it?? Ok, I’m getting a little shrill here. I hate when things are off kilter. I feel at ease when things are fully on kilter. Is it really a big deal that the thing is off centre? It shouldn’t prevent me from continuing to write, especially since writing is therapeutic and calming. So the header’s a little askew. Big deal. Deep breaths. Shake it off. Just shaaaaaake it off… Bah! It’s no use. I won’t rest until my header is at it’s maximum length (again, that’s what he said). Any blogger experts out there who know what my problem is? (ahem, by that I mean my blog problem…)

Merry Awkward Christmas!

I trust you’re familiar with this hilarious site–Awkward Family Photos? One of my fave shots is this family up a tree. You’ve heard the expression “riding pine” but c’mon, are you kidding? That poor kid in the front was surely the victim of some school yard teasing after his buddies “logged” onto the internet. So, I was feeling all smug about my completely non-awkward family photo collection until I came across this ridiculous post (from an old family blog) and suspect these pictures might be “awkward family photo” material? December 2006–this was originally going to be our first annual “Family Holiday Card” until we came to our senses. This was even too nerdy for us, and we’re pretty darn nerdy. Plus hubby threatened that if I showed these pictures to ANYONE he’d snap! Apparently he wasn’t taken with my idea of an annual family card with us dressed in over-the-top tacky costumes adorned with Christmas ornaments. Noteworthy: 1. The baby is indeed wearing a dog sweater purchased from the Dollar Store. It seems they don’t make ugly infant sized Christmas sweaters. 2. I can’t even believe I got my jock of a husband to wear tights! I’m pretty sure he[…]
